Why St John’s?
Teaching is all about the connections we make. We asked our team, “Why St John’s?” This is what they said….
Karen Leese
Principal
What I love about St John’s – I have had the pleasure of working in lots of different schools all over the world and what I love about St John’s is the beautiful landscape our school is set in. From bush and nature play to multiple outdoor learning areas, we have lots of space for children to freely learn and play. St John’s is like your second home; we really are a small school with a very big heart.
Sue Denholm
Foundation/Year 1 Teacher
I love to work in a Christian environment where students can grow in faith and their understanding of what Jesus did for us. I appreciate the opportunity to teach in a PYP school educating students to be global citizens and supporting them to develop respect for themselves, others and the world around them.
Renae Ruediger
Year 1/2 Teacher
What I love at St John’s is that it is a country, Christan school, which helps give it a lovely family feel. I like how the staff collaborate in their planning to improve students’ skills, knowledge and conceptual understanding.
Laura Anders
Year 3/4 Teacher
St John’s is a school where God’s love is at the heart of everything they do. They provide warm and caring relationships in a safe environment. I am thankful for the opportunity to teach the PYP to students who are enthusiastic and excited to learn.

There is a real sense of community among the staff and students here at St John’s and I love being part of this. I enjoy helping others, it brings me great joy in seeing children shine in their learning journey as they grow and develop into unique individuals.

I feel very blessed to be a special part of the support and care to all students, staff and families in my pastoral care role at St John’s.

It is a privilege to serve in a Lutheran school where the teaching and learning has Christ at the centre.
Creating Connections
To further support our endeavour to provide an engaging environment for the ‘whole child’ to grow and blossom, we have a school Care Coordinator that is actively involved in all aspects of the school community. The network of Class Carers coordinated by our school Care Coordinator helps to build strong networks with our parents, students and staff. Parenting information along with social skill development and support in the area or grief and loss are other elements of our Pastoral Care program.
